assignment #9 Reflection

The more time i spend in this class the more i begin to analyze the user generated data that I interact with day to day. I begin to question where this idea may have originated and the conditions in which it was forged. I try to figure out what traditions may have been in place at the time it was created. i'm always looking for a deeper meaning within videos. Even videos that one might think have no deeper meaning and exist only for comical value always seem to have a significant meaning.

Being in this class has also mad me more aware of web 2.0 what it means and how it is always changing. It really affects everything we do in life such as making decisions and differentiating between what is fact and fiction. This has really affected my writing because I now research a lot more than I used to in order to make sure my facts are correct.

I chose this video because me and my friends thought it was hilarious.

The characters fighting in the game are funny but the commentary of

the people in the background (the players) is hilarious,or at least me and

all of my friends think it is. My friends and I find this content funny because

we can relate to it. Growing up, most of my friends played video games on a

regular basis. If we weren't outside we were most likely playing video games.

While we played all these games we would do similar things such as getting loud

and talking trash but of course we weren't using curse words and such. We can

now appreciate the comedy more because now we actually sound like the people

in the video As for the remixed version it is hilarious.

There are many remixes of the original version on a variety of videos

which shows the versatility of the video (or at least the videos audio) and

how easily something can be spread that has nothing to do with what you were

searching for. an example being the power rangers remix. You wouldn't typically

see power rangers coupled with audio from the Wombo Combo video.
